The FIM’s environmental awareness raising campaign, spearheaded by its Environmental Ambassadors known as the Ride Green Ambassadors, will be launched this year with a special mission, namely to convince the motorcycling community to take up the challenge of helping to save the planet.
This may sound like something out of a superheroes comic, but it is a weighty responsibility reflecting the important role the FIM has entrusted to these seven super-champions. It is a very fresh and youthful campaign especially geared to very young audiences who enjoy watching motorcycle sport.
The Ride Green Ambassadors have morphed into Super Agents with a single mission: to save our Planet.
Laia Sanz, Valentino Rossi, Alex Salvini, Randy de Puniet, Takahisa Fujinami, Marc Márquez and Greg Hancock are the seven Ambassadors who work for future generations by promoting a culture of sustainability in the day-to-day practice of sport and in everyday life.
This coming June, the FIM will celebrate the 5th anniversary of this programme. The first rider to join the programme was Marc Márquez in 2012.
Ride Green Ambassadors' mission?
An ambassador is a High profile person who represents a Nation or an organisation or, in this case, an entire philosophy of sport: sustainable motorcycling.
Their activities include:
• Representing FIM in environmental activities
• Support with Social Media
• Present the FIM Environmental award
• Be the FIM Voice for the Ride Green Campaign
The voices of our Ambassadors are a powerful force that can captivate millions of fans. Sport represents a very valuable vehicle for the promotion of attitudes that are simple to adopt but represent a major contribution to the crisis and to mitigating climate change.
They have a MISSION, You can make it POSSIBLE!
