FIM Motocamp 2017 in Italy
After its first edition, 36 years ago, the FIM Motocamp went back again to Italy this year. More than 390 participants representing 21 nations had the chance to enjoy the magnificence of one of the most enjoyable parts of Italy, the stunning region of Tuscany.
With the perfect organisation of the Motorcycle Club Alto Casentino and the constant support of the Federazione Motociclistica Italiana (FMI), the riders and passengers spent almost a week at a campsite close by the famous historical and religious site of La Verna. Of course, they visited this fascinating place, discovering an important part of the life of Saint Francis of Assisi’s (the Patron Saint of Italy). They also took a guided tour in Arezzo, hometown of the architect and painter Giorgio Vasari, one of the most important figures of the Renaissance and Mannerism period. Then they paid a short visit to Siena, with its striking towers and the worldwide famous Piazza del Campo, where the horse race known as the Palio di Siena takes place. The Casentino valley provided the backdrop for several guided motorcycle tours organised over the week.
This event was a resounding success for the FMI and the organisers, and a perfect opportunity for the participants. They were able to enjoy a truly international Moto-touring event and gain deep insights into the culture, traditions and customs of one of the most magnificent regions of Italy.
See you next year for the FIM Motocamp in Šibenik, Croatia
