MLADINA (Croatia), 2 June 2012 – Premiere for girls in Mladina did not look very pleasant. Also women riding WMX FIM Motocross World Championship are used to rain at every round, but biggest fear in this year's season we had from rain in Mladina's round. Bad weather came to Croatia and we couldn't choose anything else. Brave girls ran out on the circuit and started to riding in that unhospitable conditions. Maybe in this time it is rule, but Fonta MX Racing Team rider Chiara Fontanesi was fastest again in fourth round of season.
Women's first contact with track were just right after MX3 Free Practice. Track for girls had to be shortened in WMX Free Practice, but sun was fully prepared to drain the track during practicing. Conditions for riding were hard, but girls did not give up and show to all spectators, that they could ride fast too. Qualifying Practices were on program after men's cathegory and track were completely different. More drier, less sticky mud and without rain promises nice fights for Sunday's pole position.
It is clear to everybody, who is interested in Women's World Motocross, that Chiara Fontanesi is for this year unstoppable. Her speed is incredible and nobody could endanger her. Her main goal for this season is keep red plate until the end of the season and be a world champion. In Mladina was scenario same as in previous rounds. Nobody was able to beat her. She became fastest rider in Qualifying Practice. Thanks to this result she can choose best suitable position on start for tommorow.
Great performance showed French rider Justine Charroux with her Yamaha in qualifying. Mladina's track fits to her and from the start of Qualifying Practice was expectable, that she aimed to first positions. Finally after twelve laps, second best lap time displayed next to her name. Lead of Chiara Fontanesi was nine seconds to Justine.
Second in overall championship standings after three rounds is Dutch rider Britt van der Wekken. Her aim is to keep this position and continue with good performances and be on podium as so many times as it is posible. In today's muddy rides she made a good result and third place went to her.
When we look back to previous rounds on Virginie Germond's ride, we could see, that she is getting faster. Her ride in Mladina Qualifying Practice was clear and fast at once. Gap between her and van der Wekken was only half a second. It means for Suisse rider Virginie fourth place today and in races she wanted to catch podium places.
Polish rider Joanna Miller finished in Italy, Arco di Trento on a third position first time in her career. Joanna started confident. Her best time she achieved in 12th lap. Evidently she is technically good at mud and this brought her fifth place in WMX cathegory.
Irish rider Natalie Kane with her KTM fights at every race for the first positions. Sometimes bad luck defend her to reach a good place, but she is one of the riders, who can threathen a little bit Chiara Fontanesi. Finally HM Plant KTM UK rider Natalie ended at sixth position.
Natalie had to look after her position, because motivated Marianne Veenstra wanted to pass her. Second Dutch rider Marianne with her KTM finished only a few hundredths behind Natalie Kane. Italian rider Francesca Nocera was not as fast on mud as she could imagine. She obtained only eighth position. Just right after her German rider Anne Borchers and Nina Klink were closing top ten riders.
