Reigning champion Laia Sanz – Montesa will attempt an amazing double feat today when she will look to win the 2013 FIM Women’s Trial World Championship in La Chatre, France before then dashing off in search of victory at the deciding round of the 2013 Maxxis FIM Women’s Enduro World Cup. With today’s Trial not scheduled to finish until 4pm local time, Sanz will have to cover the two hundred and fifty kilometres to the enduro venue at St Flour in good time if she is make the start of the initial Super Test at 7pm.
Speaking about the massive challenge that lays ahead of her today, Sanz said. “ It’s going to be a tough, but exciting day and one that I never made before. If all goes well it could be a good day, but there is always the chance one mistake or a problem with the bike can change everything. The pressure is no different to normal, I have faced this many times before. It is always good to face a new challenge and by not being at the first round in Andorra due to the date clash, which I would have preferred to have done, it means that today will decide the championship.”
