Despite the ongoing period of disruption, and associated travel restrictions caused by the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, this week the FIM continued its educational programme by hosting two webinars.
The remote learning sessions took place on Wednesday and earlier today, these covered a range of topics relating to the new version of FIM Environmental Code and the recently introduced online Environment checklists.
The sixty participants from five continents enjoyed a packed and informative programme delivered by Kattia Juárez Dubón - Director of the International Sustainability Commission (CID) and Peter Gregory CID Bureau member, plus Alexandre Melet FIM IT developer.
Reflecting on the success of these virtual events, Katia Juárez Dubón - Director of the International Sustainability Commission (CID) commented: “We started with webinars three years ago to update our stewards in recent code changes. We have taken advantage of this period of confinement to continue our training process and opened the doors to new participants. We have set a new record with the audience, with us having had ‘attendees’ from America, Africa, Asia, Europe and Oceania. Despite this challenging situation that the planet is facing, it is essential to be able to contribute to the community, and we believe education is one of the best ways. This time has given us new tools such as online education that in the end will contribute to the sustainability of our activities.”
