FIM works with the United Nations to make the roads safer for riders. The UN work is promoted by film star Michelle Yeoh.
One million three hundred thousand people die every years on the roads of the world. We do not know exactly how many are riders and passengers on motorcycles and scooters as often the figures do not record this detail.
FIM experts estimate the figure is at least four hundred thousand. We also know that each year an average of five hundred children die every single day, - and some of these are passenger's on a motorcycle ridden by Mum or Dad.
The UN held a competition recently for the best road safety films and there were over two hundred entries. FIM was at the launch and this film clip highlights the value of the work.
