The FIM is eager to present the 2018 calendar for the International Touristic Meeting Challenge that, at the end of the season, will award an individual rider and a Motorcycle Club as winners of the FIM World Touring Challenge.
How to do it? It is very simple*: just participate with a motorcycle at the events on the calendar. A presence means one point, so the more you are present more chances you have to win. Once there hand over a copy of your National Federation (or its approved delegated body) membership and of your identification document at the FIM official and then, enjoy the event!
This year we have ten gatherings, passing through four Continents and visiting eight Countries. Spain is the first, in January, then in Central America with the charming city of Antigua Guatemala hosting the second leg. Then back in Europe with Portugal and Italy as protagonists with the famous gatherings of Faro and of Stelvio Pass. In May, during the Lés-a-Lés, you have the chance to discover all Portugal, from south to north, four days with a deep insight in the Lusitanian culture and traditions. August is the stage of the Far East, with Japan remembering and supporting the victims’ families of Tsunami, and the Scandinavia with “old style” treffen in Denmark and Sweden. The truffle is the guest of honour of the October gathering in Italy before closing our calendar in Africa. Morocco and its beautiful city of Tanger are the right places to close such a world Tour.
In addition to these exciting places to visit, do not miss the chance to gain another point valid for the Challenge participating at the FIM Rally, the oldest international touring gathering in the world, taking place in the medieval city of Trakai, Lithuania at the end of July.
Damiano Zamana, FIM Touring Commission Director: “After the first approach done last year, checking the responsiveness of our National Federations that was positive, the CTL and I are proud to present the 2018 calendar, a real world Tour and a challenge for our passionate touring riders. The culture and traditions of the places that we will visit are the most important values to share during our journey, respecting the society and the environment that will host us.”
