8-9-10 September 2017
After the two events in North America, the FIM Adventure Touring Challenge moves to Europe
With the support of the Federazione Motociclistica Italiana (FMI), we are ready for the 9th edition of the Hardalpitour (HAT), an unmissable annual adventure touring rendez-vous for the most adventurous motorcyclists. There are a record 450 entries this year, and the marked presence of foreign riders (over 70% of the riders come from countries throughout Europe) makes it the most representative event at international level. HAT 2017 starts on 7 September by the sea, in the sunny and welcoming resort town of Sanremo, and it ends on Sunday, 10 September in the beautiful mountain setting of Sestriere.
A privileged location on the beautiful promenade of Sanremo will accommodate the entire logistics base: the HAT Village with the presence of the stand of the partners, the secretariat, the park closed and the stage-starting. But even more importantly, in early September, the HAT participants and their accompanying persons will have the full benefit of the wonderful local climate and hospitality of Sanremo. The Casino of Sanremo will host the participants’ briefing and their meeting with the great riders and personalities of the adventure touring world.
The extraordinary system of high-altitude ex-military dirt roads running along the Italian-French border and the Western Alps will as usual be the backbone of the HAT 2017 routes, once again divided into EXTREME (900 km), CLASSIC (590 km) and DISCOVERY (430 km).
The presence of official YAMAHA, HONDA and BMW teams at the starting line is confirmed as is the debut in the adventure world of the innovative QUADRO Steinbock 4-wheel scooter, with three teams deployed directly by the company.
The main partner of the HAT 2017 will be once again be YAMAHA, together with GARMIN (GPS instruments) and LS2 Helmets (helmets), as well as new brands such as ANLAS (tyres), KLÍM (clothing) and NATURAL BOOM (drinks).
A special thank you for their support goes to the Liguria and Piedmont Regions, the Province of Imperia, the Municipalities of Sanremo, Sestriere, Garessio and Limone Piemonte, the ATL of Cuneo area and the Casino of Sanremo.
You can follow all the news about the HAT 2017 on www.over2000riders.com and on the official Facebook pages (Over 2000 Riders - Turismo Fuoristrada - HAT 2017).
Damiano Zamana, FIM’s Touring and Leisure Commission Director: “Hard Alpi Tour, with its 9th edition, has proved to be an excellent example of FIM’s advocacy for and commitment to global motorcycle touring and related non-sporting activities.”
Rocco LOPARDO, FMI Touring Commission President: “We accepted the challenge offered by FIM to be among pioneers for this new approach to tourism for motorcyclists. The Italian Federation has been supporting off-road touring events for many years, and offers a 2017 calendar with a total of eight events.”
