Since 1911, the International Women's Day is celebrated on 8 March in many countries around the globe. Thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire women and to celebrate them.
On this very special day, Nita KORHONEN, FIM Director Women in Motorcycling said: “This year International Women´s Day has a special meaning for the CFM and the FIM, as today history is being made in Sweden where the first ever Women´s SnowCross World Cup event is being held. This event shows that women have increasing possibilities in our various sports. I am also happy that so many Federations and countries are celebrating women in motorcycling today. I have always said that women don´t need special treatment in motor sport but today I want to wish Happy Women´s Day to everyone and express my gratitude to all those who are taking this opportunity to highlight the importance of women in motorcycling!
The FIM and its affiliated national federations have planned many events and initiatives for the occasion.
