Marc Márquez will not participate in the second race of the season at Jerez on Sunday. The reigning MotoGP World Champion took the decision with his team after completing the two Free Practice sessions held today.
The Repsol Honda Team rider underwent surgery for a fracture to his right humerus last Tuesday in Barcelona, before returning to Jerez to try to take part in the Andalucía GP.
Álex Márquez continued taking steps forward throughout the morning, finishing sixteenth in FP3 and thirteenth in FP4, less than a second off the top spot in both sessions.
In Q1, the rookie suffered a small crash at Turn 5. A 1:38.648 lap means he will start the Andalucía GP from 21st.
