ADAC Sachsenring Classic celebrates historic motorsport Former World & Vice World Champions are invited
A special motorsport festival will be celebrated June 19-21 at Sachsenring Circuit. The 88 years old circuit close by Chemnitz will host more than 600 riders which start in 18 different classes.
Spectators will see close to 30 MZ Racebikes, sidecars, 50ccm bikes and Pro Superbikes, former east german formel as well and touring cars.
The highlight will be an unique presentation of gp bikes and riders from the 50´s and 60`s as well as the 1970`s to the 80`s thankfully organized by Ferry Brouwer. Former world champions, vice world champions and gp starter from 17 countries will be riding on the Sachsenring Track.
Under those such famous riders as Hugh Anderson, Kel Carruthers, Eugenio Lazzarini, Steve Baker, Luigi Taveri, Jan de Vries, Dieter Braun, John Cronshaw, Franco Bonera, Heinz Rosner, Alan North, Ginger Molloy.
Dave Hailwood, son of 9 times world champion Mike Hailwood, will be riding his dads 250ccm MZ. With this bike, starting number 100, Mike won the Sachsenring 250 GP race in 1963.
Moreover James Jimmie Guthrie jr. will come to this place, where his father lost his live 78 years ago on the old Sachsenring Circuit.
