The first ever Women in Motorsports Conference was opened today in Vierumäki, Finland. The joint FIM-FIA event gathered together representatives of 25 different countries from every continent.

During the two day historical event almost 40 speakers will share their expertise about the women in sport, volunteering, sustainability of motorsport, dual career and after career life as well as the topics from the industy. Motorsport champions like Maria Herrera, Shelina Gomez and Kirsten Landman will be sharing their inspiring stories and telling the audience how they have managed to make it to the top.
F1 test driver Tatiana Galderón and racing engineer, Le Mans 24 hours winner Leena Gade will explain how they have been breaking the barriers.
The highlight of the event will be tonight at the Sibelius Hall in Lahti where a special book of pioneering women in motorcycling will be launched. Also the Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Ville Skinnari will be present at the celebration.

We are overwhelmed about the highlevel people we have here in Finland. Everyone is so extited about the weekend and I am sure this will be extremely interesting and important weekend for all of us. It is a big honour for us that several mayors of the area as well as minister Skinnari are showing their support to this historical event.
