Whitham rates Rea's chances

Former racer James Whitham has backed Irish rider Jonathan Rea to continue to improve in the 2010 FIM Superbike World Championship.

The Hannspree Ten Kate Honda rider finished the 2009 season in fifth in the final points standings and Whitham, a former World Superbike and World Supersport race winner and now commentator with eurosport, said: "He gets better every race and I think it is more the rider than the bike.

"He doesn't make a lot of noise, clever enough to get the machine how he wants it, and he wants to win. Lots of self-belief without being arrogant."
