2010 FIM Sidecar World Championship - Victory of the Pavarinta / Hänni duo

Finland's Pekka Päivärinta, 2008 World Champion, Switzerland associated to Adolf Hänni for Team Suzuki Finland, won the first round of the 2010 FIM Sidecar World Championship opening round in Le Mans (FRA). Päivärinta and Hänni dominated the practice sessions and the race in front of the reigning world champion, Ben and Tom Birchall. The Germans Kurt Hock and Enrico Becker completed the podium.

This race was marked during the early laps when Gary and Dan Knight, second in the qualifying sessions had to retire due to a mechanical failure. A crash by the German duo Rosher Mike and Andy Wolfram, 6th in qualifying and the Australian team Adam Treasure and Darren Dewhurst, forced these two teams to retire.
