Having claimed the title in four consecutive seasons Toni Bou - Repsol Montesa will begin the defence of his crown as the 2011 SPEA FIM X-Trial World Championship kicks off in Italy’s atmospheric Palasport Fiera di Genova arena this evening.
Bou is in a confident mood having won both the Indoor and Outdoor titles last season, however, he is mindful of the ever present threat that his closest rivals present: “I am really looking forward to the race this evening,” said Bou. “It is important that I get a good result here in Genoa as it is the first round and there is a long break before the next one in January. I know that if I can win here then I will have maximum confidence during that break.”
“The sections look great as they are made from natural, local Italian stone,” continued Bou. “It will not be easy tonight, though. I know that guys like Albert Cabestany - Sherco and Adam Raga - Gas Gas are hungry for the title this year so I must focus one hundred percent on my performance if I am to win it for the fifth time in a row. This is my aim.”
