Cabestany looks to close the gap on Bou in Madrid

13/03/10 - 17:43

The penultimate round of the 2010 SPEA FIM Indoor Trial World Championship in Madrid, Spain later this evening will be an important moment in the title race. One rider who knows this more than most is Albert Cabestany – Sherco who currently sits just five points behind series leader Toni Bou – Repsol Montesa ahead of tonight’s showdown.

“It is clear I have come here to chase the victory, this is my goal, but if that does not happen then I hope I can still finish in front of Bou. I want to be able to put the championship in a close position for the public, so it can be a really tense fight at the final round.” Cabestany explained.

“I know this will be a difficult task, as Toni is riding really well as could some of  the other riders tonight. It looks like it is going to be a good event, as the sections are very technical and should create a close battle. Hopefully I can repeat the victory I took in Marseille, as the sections were technical there too.”

“I have been practicing well since the last competition, and I am really pleased with the bike and how everything is going at this moment. Since moving to the two stroke I think my level is about the same, but what I would say is that I am making the same sections more easily and on a more consistent basis which has been the big difference so far this year.” Albert ended.
