The waiting is over as the 87th edition of the FIM International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) finally gets underway in Saxony, Germany today.
With the Sachsenring race circuit becoming home for the 473 competitors that will cover over 1000km during the six days of competition, the race is now on to claim the coveted top spot in the World Trophy Team competition. As defending champions Finland start the event focused on winning once again.
"Everybody is excited for the race to begin," confirmed team member Eero Remes. As the outright winner of last year's ISDE in Finland, Remes will be an integral part of the team's ambitions in Germany.
"As defending champions this is a special race for us," continued Remes. "It's the only event of the year where we get to race together as a team and represent our country. The race is long and tough so to be successful takes a lot of effort and some luck. Speed is not enough. You must be patient and avoid any crashes that may damage your bike."
"Winning in Finland was a result of being able to do all those things. To win the ISDE outright in my home country will always rank as one of the highlights of my racing career."
