Preparations are well underway in Monte-Carlo

Preparations are now well underway for the third edition of the glittering FIM Gala Ceremony, which will take place in the motorsport Mecca of Monte-Carlo this coming Sunday - 2nd December 2012 - when the two-wheel community will gather once again to celebrate and applaud the achievements of motorcycling’s finest and fastest riders, in this World famous setting. All of this season’s wide array of FIM World Champions, headed by Jorge Lorenzo, will take to the stage at the Monte-Carlo Sporting Club alongside invited legends from the various different disciplines for an award ceremony that will be attended by key industry and media personnel, and broadcast live to a global audience, in recognition of the talents of our two-wheel heroes.

Two days of activity are planned in the region, with the FIM General Assembly taking place at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel and Resort this Saturday - 1st December - when delegates representing the 107 National Federations from around the World will congregate for their annual meeting. The impressive Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel and Resort is owned by The Société des Bains de Meris (SBM) which is a publicly traded company registered in the Principality of Monaco. Other notable establishments owned and managed by SBM include the Monte Carlo Casino, the Opéra de Monte-Carlo and the Hotel de Paris in Monte-Carlo.

Monte-Carlo, which is the administrative area of the Principality of Monaco, is World known for being a favourite destination for the rich and famous and for the planet’s highest profile celebrities, as well as being widely recognised for its casino and unique street racing circuit that plays host to the F1 Championship each year. The sea front location with its impressive harbour adds to the overall ambience of this wonderful setting which has a history as rich as some of those that continue to visit Monte-Carlo today.

The almost forty strong 2012 FIM World Champions will be joined by two-wheel legends Jim Redman, Torsten Hallman, Dougie Lampkin, Kari Tiainen, Hurbet Auriol, Hans Nielsen and Mary McGee for another evening to remember. Sunday’s packed programme will be broadcast live on with the day’s coverage starting with the FIM Symposium that will include a one to one session with Loris Capirossi and will continue later in the afternoon with the unique and exclusive multi-rider press conference.

The main FIM Gala Ceremony will also be broadcast live on as well as on MOTORS TV.
