The FIM Speedway World Cup QR comes to Landshut on 07.05.11 - Greg Hancock - 1997 FIM Speedway World Champion will lead the American Speedway Team in order to qualify for the SWC Tournament.
On Saturday 7.00 p.m. the FIM Speedway World Cup QR comes to Landshut´s Ellermühle stadium The teams from Ukraine, USA, Finland and Germany race for only one place in the World Cup Tournament.
Not just another race for Germany´s Speedway hot spot Landshut says ACL boss Helge Teuscher: "The tension mounts slowly up. There is a lot of work to be done for such an outstanding meeting, but we will give it our best shot".
Germany´s Captain Martin Smolinski (photo) can´t wait for Saturday to come:"It´s going to be a great meeting. To be able to ride for my country is always something special and riding at my hometrack puts really the icing on the cake". The home team is highly motivated but will that be enough ?
According the experts the Finnish team with Joonas Kylmäkorpi, who is in great form at the moment, will have a strong say in the final outcome.
Another strong force will be the the US Team, led by the SGP rider, 1997 FIM World Champion, Greg Hancock, together with a bunch of young wizzkids.
Not to be underestimated must be the Team from the Ukraine. They are relatively inexperienced but most of their young riders are riding regularly in the polish leagues.
Practice begins at 11.30 - Meeting starts at 19.00
