MX2 red plate holder Gautier Paulin admits he faces a stern test to maintain his lead in a wide-open 2009 FIM Motocross World Championship.
The series moves to Holland this weekend where Paulin will face the sand specialists at Valkenswaard. Not renowned for his pace on sand, Paulin will find it hard to defend his championship lead this weekend, but the Frenchman is determined to rise to the challenge of the likes of Joel Roelants, Erik Eggens, Shaun Simpson and Rui Goncalves.
"I am thinking about the championship for sure," Paulin said.
He added: "I think about leading also, but Holland will be tough. Last year we had Cairoli, Rattray and Searle, and the championship was only open to those three guys, but this year there are many riders who can win."
