Melandri goes car racing

Marco Melandri is not letting Kawasaki's withdrawal from the FIM MotoGP World Championship keep him off the race circuits.

Melandri, who was left without a ride after Kawasaki withdrew from the series, is set to make his Speedcar Series debut at Losail on February 12-14.

The Italian, who was 250cc world champion in 2002, has signed to drive for Team Lavaggi alongside Germany's Heinz Harald Frentzen.
