With this year’s FIM Trial des Nations (TDN) having only just past, plans are already being made for the 2012 edition of this team competition that will be hosted in Moutier, Switzerland as the Federation Moto Suisse celebrates its fiftieth anniversary.
This will be the first time Switzerland has held the FIM TDN. Situated fifty-five kilometres from Basel, the venue at Moutier last hosted a World Trial event back in 2004, when it staged the final round of the FIM Trial World Championship during the season when Takahisa Fujinami – Repsol Montesa won his only FIM World tile.
2012 will mark the twenty-ninth running of the FIM Trial des Nations, with the first team event being hosted in Poland back in 1984. As is very much the format nowadays, the three-day competition in Moutier will include the concluding round of the 2012 FIM Women’s Trial World Championship, the FIM Women’s Trial des Nations and the FIM Trial des Nations - over Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Alongside France, Germany, Italy and Spain – Switzerland is one of only five nations that has participated in every FIM Trial des Nations since its inception in 1984.
