Richard Assen
2006: As a passionate motorcycle rider, Richard Assen got addicted to landspeed record attempts when he saw some riders running flat out on the salt bed of Lake Gairdner, Australia. That was in 2006.
The Burt Munro movie confirmed Richard's addiction and with his mate, Jason Swan, the two Kiwi's started a 5 year project. Naturally, a visit to Bonneville, the holy ground for land speed records was required.
2011: From then on Richard and his 400 bhp turbo charged Suzuki Hayasuba, have been going faster and faster. Last September, he finally succeeded.
Richard is now the fastest man, riding a conventional motorcycle at just over 420.663 km/h!
